The Earth is our home. As a species we would not have life without water, air, land, resources, and energy we share with all other species of animals and plants. And we would not lead a peaceful life without the respect and recognition of our fellow human beings. For all life to flourish human beings need to live in a way which honors other humans, natural systems and finite resources. Environmental Peace means restoring and preserving the integrity of one-humanity with the ecological systems and natural processes that sustain life on Earth. This vision is integral part of our strategies about Environmental Education.
Environmental Education (EE) is the basic to people’s Environment Friendly lives and thereby it must be an essential and important element of our lifestyles and initiatives for Environment Protection. Environmental Education is the key to developing skills, knowledge and values that encourage and then ensure sustainable environmental management. Thereby, EE is not confined to formal schooling but should be the part of wide ranging activities and initiatives in all spheres of societal life.
We should be proud of our association with the educational institutes – the administrations, the students and their families. There is a tremendous wealth of talent, experience and commitment in the community, ever masked by the overwhelming coverage of the acts of terrorism and separation by the media.
The values and ethics surrounding Peace and Environmental Protection must be highlighted and encouraged in order to make Peace, and Environmental Understanding merge effortlessly in our lives. Without this, the initiative of Environmental Education and Conservation would not be of greater outcome.
What we have been developing is a package of measures that complement our practical initiatives from school to home and office to community. Green Living Association has established the largest congregation of Green Ambassadors (schools and college students) and their supporters (family members) with an aim of extending the message of Environmental Peace to each Pakistani by 2020. To achieve this objective we invite you to become our Peace Partner.
To transform the vision of 2020 into reality we are making Peace Partners in all segments of society. Our Peace Partners commit to ecologically sustainable development, environmental education, activism, and stewardship. Through individual and collaborative efforts they seek solutions to today’s ecological complexities and challenges facing our global community. Together we vision, hope, and work to make Environmental Peace an embodied reality of our world.
